Easy Red Beans and Rice

Sautéed turkey sausage, add beans, green chilies, and simmer with Minute White Rice.  Mmm, and don't forget to make a pan of cornbread.

Ingredients

7 oz turkey smoked sausage, sliced
1 can kidney beans, drained, rinsed
1 can (10 oz.) diced tomatoes and green chilies, undrained
2 Tbsps chili powder
2 cups Minute® White Rice, uncooked
6 oz pasteurized prepared cheese product, cubed

Directions

  • Cook sausage in large nonstick skillet on medium-high heat 5 minutes or until lightly browned, stirring occasionally.
  • Add beans, tomatoes and chili powder; mix well. Stir in 2 cups water. Bring to boil.
  • Stir in rice and cheese product; cover. Reduce heat to low; simmer 5 to 7 minutes or until water is almost absorbed. Stir until cheese is completely melted.
