A traditional Southern favorite recipe for the New Year ...

Makes 8 Servings


1 pkg (14 oz.) smoked turkey sausage, thinly sliced
3 cans (15 1/2 oz.) black eyed peas, drained and rinsed
2 cans (14 1/2 oz.) chicken broth
2 cups onion, chopped
1 tsp crushed red pepper flakes
1/2 tsp ground red pepper
2 1/2 cups Minute® White Rice, uncooked
chopped fresh parsley (optional)


  • Brown sausage in medium saucepan over medium-high heat.
  • Add peas, broth, onions and seasonings; bring to a boil.
  • Stir in rice; cover. Simmer 10 minutes or until rice is tender. Garnish with parsley, if desired
