Pepper Steak

boneless beef sirloin steak (1 lb.), 1/2 inch thick, fat trimmed*

garlic powder

ground black pepper

vegetable oil
1
green bell pepper, cut into strips
1
red bell pepper, cut into strips
1
onion, sliced (optional)
1
cup
light teriyaki sauce
1
Tbsp
cornstarch
Directions
PREPARE rice according to package directions.
SLICE steak into thin strips; season with garlic powder and pepper.
HEAT oil in large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat. Add beef; cook and stir 4 to 5 minutes or until cooked through. Add bell peppers and onions, if desired, and cook until crisp-tender.
COMBINE teriyaki sauce and cornstarch, and add to beef mixture. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly. Simmer 2 minutes, or until sauce thickens slightly. Serve over rice.
* Or substitute 1 pound boneless skinless chicken breasts.
